Annual Meeting

The lay leaders of Saint Andrew’s asked the Dean of the Trenton Convocation to write a letter of invitation to the congregation for our Annual Meeting. Here is the text of the letter:

The Day of Pentecost

May 24, 2026

Dear Siblings in Christ,

Grace and Peace to you from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior. I write to you as Dean of the Trenton Convocation and as a long-term supply priest for Saint Andrew’s.

In the Gospel of John, Andrew, your patron saint, was among the first to be sent from John the Baptist to follow Jesus. Peter was introduced to Jesus by his brother Andrew with the words: “We have found the Messiah” [John 1:41]. I remain in awe of the place Andrew holds in Scriptures among the first to follow our Lord and to proclaim the presence of the Messiah. To be the first in any movement or change in culture is difficult while simultaneously filled with wonder and anticipation as a new path is found or forged.

Imagine the courage and boldness required to be the first to follow and share the Good News!

I invite you to search your hearts and find the same courage as Andrew. Perhaps together, with renewed vigor, we can proclaim the same Good News as Andrew did while cherishing the legacy of this church in the Lambertville community. To that end, the lay leaders have scheduled your next annual meeting for Trinity Sunday on Sunday, May 31st following the 1:30pm Holy Eucharist. The meeting will be held in the Elvin K. Smith Memorial Parish House on the 3rd floor.

“NOW I APPEAL TO YOU BROTHERS AND SISTERS,…

THAT YOU BE UNITED IN THE SAME MIND AND THE SAME PURPOSE.”

1 Corinthians 1:10

In his epistle to the Church in Corinth, Saint Paul encourages the unity Jesus sought, for us to be one with Christ and each other. May we come together, share our hopes and establish a new path for the future of the congregation. Be the first, like Andrew, and in boldness embrace a period of renewal so that we may more readily find Jesus in our lives together and daily exclaim: “We have found the Messiah.” The winter comes to a close and new blossoms are all around. Bring the buds of faith in your hearts that your witness beside Andrew to proclaim the Messiah’s presence blooms into a wondrous bouquet of overflowing life, joy, and hope.

I call upon your support, in all manners of stewardship beginning with joining this annual meeting, to re-strengthen the foundation of Saint Andrew’s so that it may more readily support the beautiful community of the Lambertville area, a place that I, too, call home.

Please keep the congregation and those in need in your prayers as well. A blessed Pentecost to all! Live in love as Christ loves us. [Ephesians 5:2]

In the Peace and Hope of our Lord,

The Very Rev. Michael T. Panzarella
